Real San Diego Wedding | Sheraton Harbor Island

I know what you are going to say after you take a look at these photos… For real? Another purple wedding??

Why yes… yes, this is another purple wedding, what of it? I will never discourage a bride from using any color just because I have seen every combination of it for years and years (and years and years and years).  What I like or colors I want to work with is irrelevant and I am glad! For being a wedding planner is not what JLo or Tutera has cracked it up to be on the telly, it is about listening and providing ideas which create a beautiful event that not only fits the couple’s style and personality, but they have a sense of ownership over, so when their guests exclaim; “this is the best wedding ever!!”- they can smile and bask in the pride of it all. That my sweet readers, is the ultimate payoff for me… but back to today’s Real Wedding…

Karen & Trent, who call New Orleans their home, are huge LSU fans (ah! now you see how the color palette was influenced).

Their wedding was an action-packed celebration, for every last detail was thought of and the day included Filipino dance performances, a first line parade, a same-day edit video,  and a chocolate fountain that had guests making multiple trips to that side of the ballroom all night! It is safe to say a good time was had by all!

I have to tell you that my favorite aesthetic feature of this wedding was the lighting, I was SO happy that Karen & Trent were both so into lighting too, because as you can see, it made a HUGE difference in the ordinary, window-less, ballroom. Many moons ago I was converted (read: educated) from a “candlelight is plenty to create ambiance” attitude, to “lighting is the way to go if you want ambiance” way of wedding-planning life. Thank goodness!

All of the beautiful images were captured by  Joseph & Jenny of LLANES WEDDINGS, for more on the incredible team that made this day possible, check out the end of the post.
